Stars in an Hourglass

As our time slips by and,

We watch people come and go,

Day passes into night,

Night into new day,

Sand falls from the hourglass.

Time is running out,

Time is growing short,

But amid all the loss,

A star appears within the glass.

Bright and glowing,

Blindingly so.

As the sand recedes,

And emptiness prevails,

A star hangs, marking a place in time.

A moment,

A choice,

A day,

A life,

That time cannot touch or tarnish.

What once was a grain of sand,

Now transformed by fate,

Hangs as a star in an empty Hourglass

Thoughts to ponder…From another author

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love – for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment is it perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you from misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. ~Max Ehrmann, Desiderata: A Poem for a Way of Life

One Tear

20120611-005506.jpg

Just one tear can change a moment
Just one tear can change a day
Just one tear can change a life
Don’t forget the power of a single tear to wipe away all that you fear.
One single tear rolled down my cheek and it taught me more than any day of study.
It holds the essence of a heart in so pure a form that no artist or poet or saint could ever touch with pen or brush or loving power all that it contains.
Fear not the single tear or the floods,
They are sacred, they are true and they are you.

Deeper thoughts

I am a deeper well then you can swim in

I am a rushing current of emotions

I am a stronger tower then you have ever tried to siege

I am fragile like porceline

I weap when I am strong

And laugh when I break

Mysteries make up my dreams

And dreams fill my days

Battles waged with words

And weapon of silence clash

Your eyes and lips haunt my visions

Oh how the time has passed

Find me in a place unnamed

Take me to land far away

Kiss me with your words

Speak with actions of tender love

There is much left to say but so little I can do

Know that when my body is at its stillest my mind races the fastest.

Fear guides me to my victory

And mans praise leads me to my foley.

I am rarely understand

But told I am not confusing

I am structured out of irony

And clothed in confusion

Until Then…

If Love

If love is a door, your letting all my love out
If love is the ocean, I am a ship wreck
If love is a prison, then I’m in solitary confinement
If love is a rainbow, I am the raging storm
If love is a train, the tracks are missing
If love is a story, mine has not been written
If love is a journey, I am lost
If love is a roller coaster, I am to short to ride
If love is a game, I’m in the penalty box
If love is the sun, I am a vampire
If love is a great jewel, I am to poor to purchase it
If love is a key, I am locked out
If love is a fire, I am being burned
If love is a loaded gun, I have been shot through the heart
If love is a painting, my canvas is empty
If love is a dream, I lay awake all night
If love heals all wounds, I am still bleeding

If love is only a part or portion of all the world says it is,
I will wait to see what my truest love will be.

Until Then….

Burn With Me

I am a flame

and will burn

I will burn from the inside out

Thou it maybe small, this flame inside is rising

It will rise to burn away the fear, burn away the pain

I will stock the flame with all my regrets

I will throw my failure on the fire

To burn brighter than the sun

An all consuming fire

Burn with me

See the fire in my eyes

As I charge into battle

Take the spark and burn again

For the dreams you lost in the darkness

Burn again with raging flames of passion

For the truth you once watered down

Let it blister your calloused skin

Feel the warmth of it again

Let me light your way

With the flame that will not decay

Let me burn away all the pain

Leave the ashes for the wind to blow away

Lets us see what lies beneath

Let the flames show who you are

Burn, Burn, Burn With Me

What is a Hero

I say a hero cannot die,

because they are more then what

bones and blood and flesh can hold

A hero’s life is lived in the times when no one wins

In war and wrath and death’s den

A hero stand for the things that we forget

For peaceful sleep and hope again

A hero’s life is simply this

To live as right can give

I see heroes everyday but never say their names

I see that full time mother with two jobs

Who still has time for Bed time stories

I see the father who rises early and works late

So on saturday he’s at the game

Heroes wear clothes like you and I

But they were the most important thing of all

There soul upon there sleeve for all to see

Heroes are the forgotten ones,

Those who stand in shadows,

The ones who die to young

Heroes live inside us all

But will you let the selfish fall and

See what lies beneath it all….

Until then…
